Membership and Stewarship

“Pass It On!” is this year’s exciting theme for just about everything at WBCC— stewardship, Christian Ed, missions and worship. The slogan started with a splendid youth Rally Day and was so promising we decided to utilize it for all of our church-wide endeavors for a while. So—what exactly is the “it” that we are being asked to pass on?

It is our God-given strength—our time, spirit, energy, zest, talents, ability, joys, perspectives, love, hopes and substance. It is the personal and monetary fuel that energizes and enlivens our blessed church community and all those we are able to touch. It is our personal and family abundance, derived from God’s abundance.

WBCC-UCC requires a steady supply of money to keep our amazing church healthy—people, campus, missions, heat, lights, insurance, maintenance, repairs, copiers, curricula, music—with the largest portion of course to cover very modest salaries for the wonderful people who counsel and touch us and our spirits week after week. (Many donate their time.)

We also need a regular resource of volunteers of all ages to teach and guide our children, cover nursery, sing, play, usher, count, recite, fold, write notes, call or visit the ill and infirm, drive, cook, organize, sweep, paint, rake, shovel, plan, think ahead, and dream big dreams.

You’ve got it. Flaunt it! Pass it on. Please help our awesome little church stay that way!

We always welcome visitors to the West Bloomfield Congregational Church UCC. We hope you will find a lively and meaningful opportunity for worship here. Know that you are invited to share in the journey with us. You do not need to be an official member to join in the life of our congregation; but if you are interested in membership, please contact our Head Deacon or our Pastor.

Please join us in the Charron Community Room for coffee and fellowship after worship. You can also visit the Effie Cotrell Library for quiet reflection.
